Answers:
Defiantly either a German Sheppard or a Rottweiler they make good companions as well as excellent for security work as well...making sure you have a good bond and some good training and you will find that either are a good choice ! I have some friends in security and they are the top choices for security work ! Good Luck :-)
A good alarm system, camera setup.. Dogs are for companions, not guarding your junk..
German shepard,Rottweiler, pitbull either one will do but your best bet is to get a security system or a gun
Doberman
I had a Min-Pin that was the biggest little dog I've ever seen.
Dogs are NOT ment to be security items. They are ment to be family pets first and formost. powerful breeds must be handled with care and trained properly or you can get a very dangerous animal, especially if it is bored. If you want something that looks massive and impressive but has a heart of gold look at neopalitan mastiffs.
German Shepperad or a Rotweiller. Pit bulls are viscious dogs and can easily turn on their master even with good care and love. So anything but a pitbull is safe
What kind of security work? Personal protection, where you will be working with the dog all the time? Property protection, where the dog is expected to take the initiative? Alarm system, where you would be better off with cameras and electronics?
There is a great breed I know of for security...It's called an alarm system. But if you must have a dog for security..try a stuffed one with a camera eye..Dogs are meant to be your companions, not your security system. If a dog really loves you, then if he feels you are in danger he might try and protect you. But a dog should not be purchased solely for security purposes.
If you are referring to police work, such as drug sniffing, then a German Shepherd is a great breed.
doberman pinscher or german shepherd. despite all the hype, they are actually really really good pets. they tend to be animal aggressive, but that is usually not an issue. i have a german shepherd and she's a real sweet heart. they are intelligent so you can easily train them to commands, and if nothing else, their history will keep people away. people are automatically wary of dobermans, german shepherds and pit bulls. a poodle has just as many teeth as any of them and is actually way more owner protective but you don't hear about them being security dogs, lol.
Doberman
mastiff, they r loving, very gentle and smart yet very protective just the massive size will make ppl think twice the bark is very intimidating mastiffs will natural hold someone until the owner comes, they DO NOT need and should not be trained as "police dogs" are, mastiffs are natural protectors and usual r not "bitters" but r very stubborn and needs a type of owner who will not let the dog "bully" them, but they also require lots and lots and lots of love and attention, we own a old english mastiff, my husband works security in a very bad area and takes r dog to work with him and has no problems now, unlike the other 19 employees who has quit or refused to work the area, r dog has helped apprehend the would be thieves a few times, since then no thieves have been to his site it has been about 6 weeks now
