I love dogs and want to start a dog park. Can anyone share ideas on how/where this can be done?

We are thinking of moving about 45 miles so we will be near an interstate because that will create alot more business than where we are currently living.
Also, if you have been to one, the things you liked or did not like about it?
Answers:
one that has water fountains is great.. provide poop baggies and trash cans to help encourage people to clean up after their dogs... separate fence areas for big and little dogs. The one I went to had a small fenced in area at the entrance.. you had to go thru 2 gates to get into the fenced area.. that helps prevent escaping.
Benches for the humans to sit is good.. trees.
you need rules too, and a way to enforce them. Aggressive dogs should not be allowed, dogs should be current on shots and also be licenced. If a particular breed is illegal in your city, natrally it shouldnt be allowed in the dog park as well!
Be the first dog park to require vaccines to be UTD and proof of negative Fecal Floatation's and Giardia Snap Tests!!
I do not bring my dogs to dog parks because I do not know the vaccine history of all the other dogs. Sadly, owners today are not always responsible and are not good about keeping vaccines updated.
I know it would be very hard for you to establish such strict rules and regulations, but it would be for the better of all the doggie members and a lot more people would be interested in going for some worry-free fun :)
P.S. Knowing my dogs... they would love a kiddie pool or two at a dog park :)
Too many irresponsible dog owners show up at dog parks. They often refuse to pick up after their dog. Their dogs are often not well behaved. Some folks congregate and socialize, and they don't even watch their dog. You don't know if all the other dogs at the park are current in their vaccines or healthy for that matter.
I used to frequent dog parks with my dogs, but now I seldom go anymore.
Several acres of fenced land first. Then terrain acceptable to the animals to play safely. Next, adequate facilities for the 2 leggers to use, perhaps food, places to sit %26 rest, water for the dogs, cooling off pools or a pond. Also staff to oversee things. It's like with any business, you have to have a plan.
If it is a private one as opposed to public, you tend to see the same folks with the more socialized dogs. I have found in public spots folks just take their dogs there on a whim whether they are socialized or not, not for a purpose. Just my opinion. Best of luck to you.
that seems like a pretty good location...i liked how they had water fountaings for the dogs to drink out of, trees for shade, benches to sit on and doggy bags which were conveniant. I also liked that they had a big dog side and small dog side. What i didn't like was that the one i went to had no grass. Grass is very important even if its torn up because it helps keep the dust down.
