I just discovered that my male bichon's urine is brown colored. Does anyone know what causes this?

He is eating, drinking and playing normally. He is going to the vet on Monday morning, but I just wondered if your dog has ever had this symptom and what it turned out to be. In case you wonder, he is three years old and has always had regular shots and checkups and has always been in good health. Thank you.

Sometimes that can happen if he's really dehydrated. But, more than likely it's some sort of urinary tract infection.
My dacshund mix was still acting normally even though he was peeing blood. Just them acting normal doesn't really mean anything
The worst part about a urinary infection is that it increases the risk of dangerous crystals, stones and blockages.
bladder infection?
UTI?
idk, kudos for calling the vet :)
it shouldn't be a big problem if he's acting normal...he may just havea little infection. Good Luck :)
His kidney's are shutting down, brown is BAD!
Take him to a vet-right now!
A brownish tint to urine can actually be blood in the urine, just a small amount, enough to cause a discoloration. Blood in the urine can mean a lot of different things, but it is most commonly a sign of a urinary tract infection. But there are other reasons that would cause discoloration of urine. It is good that you are having him checked by the vet on Monday.
offer more water...
That is blood in his urine...he has a really bad urinary or kidney infection..
If your dogs urine is really brown (and not just dark and concentrated), then please take him to the vet ASAP. Brown urine can indicate very serious illness like liver disease, hepatitis or even some kind of cancer - Please take a fresh urine sample with you to the vet for analysis.
