I have a westie from a rescue centre but I cannot keep him?

I have a westie from the rescue centre and I love him to bits but as my mum, who is 80, is not coping very well I am in two minds to rehome him. I do love him and its tearing me apart but I am at work all day (I can pop home lunch time) and she is alone with him. She is not cruel or anything but is getting distressed about it - what do others think I should do?

Is there a doggy day care in your area?
Then you shouldnt of even got it! As a responsible owner, you should of made a FAMILY decision! Now you MUST KEEP HIM!
Call the rescue where you got him and ask if he can be "rehomed". If your mother is distressed about it, then the dog is picking up on it and it's not a good situation for either. Do what is best for the dog. A good rescue, as a good breeder, will always take a dog back no matter how long it's been or what is wrong.
Call the rescue you got him from and ask for their help. Most rescues will take any dog back, at any time, after an adoption.
Why isn't your mom in a nursing home it is the best place for her. And if you wanted that dog and your mom isn't coping that well TOO BAD!! It's your dog and if it is your house she can't do anything about the dog. Good Luck!!
Most rescues insist you return them so as they can rehouse them and that you not do it yourself. In fact most have this in the contract you signed when you adopted. This is a much better option that trying to rehome yourself.
Please give it a little longer. Things may work out better in time.
find a nice hardly used road in your area and drop the dog off there duh
call your local shelter and talk to them about re homing him or if you are able to keep him for a short period of time put out adverts in the papers or stick fliers up at local dog obedience clubs but just make sure he goes to a good home some people are not to be trusted usually obedience clubs or dog grooming shops are the go because the people who take them to these sort of places are usually the people you should be looking fo to give your pup a loving home. it unfortunate your mother is not coping with the arrival but if giving the pup away is for the good then you should do it for its own good.
good luck
you can give him to me. I am friendly and loving. or just give it away to someone you know that will be great. how about a close friend or relative? then you can visit him often.
