first jab or have i got to wait till his second jab two weeks later...
Answers:
No, you'll have to wait until he's had his second set and then about a week after that.
Is he old enough for a Job.
What on earth is a jab?
Best to take your vet's advice on this when he gives the puppy the jab.
Your vet will give you all the info
No, you have to wait:
The content of the vaccination injection is not protective in itself and does not fight infection. What it does is to "train" the immune system. The "training" takes 2 injections, 2-4 weeks apart, and another 7-10 days to be completed.
Therefore, the answer to your first question is to wait 7-10 days following the 2nd jab.
Also be aware that the vaccination protects against diseases transmissible by rats/foxes as well as dogs, so you have to be careful even in your own garden ...
2nd question: pups do usually have a touch of diarrhoea after changing home. It is due to a combination of:
the separation with their mum
different environment
change of food
wormers (or womrs!)
Do not worry and carry on the worming schedule as advised by your veterinarian.
I am supposing you are meaning he/she is getting the first set of Vaccinations/Inoculations. The first, second and third normally only cover things like Parvo, Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, Hepatitis, Parinfluenza, and 2-Leptospirosis. You can take the pup out if you wish after any on these, but there is a slight risk of contact to Rabies of which the pup will NOT be Vaccinated for until after the last 7 or 8 way Vaccinations have been administered. Also, if you take the pup out and a couple of days later he/she gets bad Diarrhea that looks reddish brown and is Rancid to the swell, then the pup MAY have picked up Coccidia. Get it to a Vet Immediately or he/she may die.
Always go by the advice of your vet, he will tell you everything you need to know (as long as you remember to ask).
Some pups do get an upset tummy when they are wormed, if you are still unsure or his tummy doesnt get better soon..seek advice from your vet.
My vet recommended waiting until two weeks after the second jab. However, in order to start to socialise the animal there's nothing stopping you from taking him to friends houses etc, where he's not likely to come into contact with other animals.
i think you can take them out after their jabs
i dont know if its normal for dogs to have diarrhoea after they have been wormed but im sure its normal for cats
no
you have to wait for the second lot of jabs im afraid
also vet will ask you if the pup has had dioeriah just let them know but im sure it will be fine
You will have to wait for a couple of weeks after the second jab but check with the vet at the time of the appointment
Check with your vet but im sure you have to wait until the second jab.
its normally 7-10 days after the 2nd jab then you know he is protected but check with your vet as all vets recomend different.
