I have a doberman, and im making him a 6X16 dog pen and.?

Chain linked fence you buy and put up from pets mart. Well im going to put cement on the bottom at a slant so water runs off when I clean it and everything. Im going to cut a whole in the fence and have a dog house built on the outside so it dosent take room, and add a canvas hammock, have any ideas to add?
Of course it comes with a tarp so hes protected from the weather. And its just to keep him in when im in school. But what other ideas do you have for em to add. I have property, the money, and time so use you imagination!
My property is fenced, but he gets into alot of trouble with the animals, and scaring people who go by in ATVS and bikes.
I live in fl, and I forgot to add that I have fans in the pen, and hes always inside with me, just when im in school hes a trouble maker.
And since I live in fl, it dosent get less then 65 degrees.

The cement is a good idea, because it will be cool. I like the kiddie pool idea, too, and the fans are great. Sounds like a great pen : ) And, the hammock sounds neat!! If your dog likes to get inside things, maybe a PVC tunnel of some sort?
That sounds like a really cool pen. Since it's Florida, maybe you can put a kiddie pool or small water pool in it. Lots of dogs like to get in them to cool off. Our neighborhood dog park has one and dogs like to roll in it, etc. It would be good in case he gets too hot. Also, there are those water dispensers for drinking; I would put one of those in there so he's sure not to run out of water.
you need to leave some grass in there dogs eat it to settle their tummys
Why not leave the dog inside where he belongs when you are gone? Outside dogs are more prone to many dangers. My friend had 2 Rott that had an acre dog run with a small barn for shelter. The male lost 20lbs in a month and when the owner finally noticed the dog was too far gone to save. He had been snake bit. Many outside dogs, even with dog houses etc, become thunder shy. I have 7 dogs including a Dobe and they are all housedogs, they go outside when I am home but are safely inside when I leave. If you must keep the poor guy outside then there are many things you can put in there fo rhis amusement, I use stuffed frozen Kongs, stuffed frozen sterilized bones, apples and treat balls to keep my inside dogs occupied when I leave. Even with a dog bed he will probably wear off the hair on his elbows and hocks. Make sure he is on flea stuff and sprayed with a mosquito repellent. A weather proof radio can provide some entertainment too.
