I have a jack russell ***** aged 18 mths and she wont stop barking. if someone enters the street, she barks.?

i know she is only doing her job, but sometimes it drives us nuts. any ideas?
Answers:
Your jack russell female sounds exactly like any JRT. The reason being...she needs exercise and tons of it. If you increase her exercise and increase her obedience training/focusing on you if you take her for a run, then she will not bark as much because when she will be home she will be more relaxed. If that doesn't work...let us know...
Also check out Cesar Millan's book "Cesar's Way." I probably would have been lost without it when it came to working with my male JRT. Good luck.
what is a jack russell *****??
You should have done your homework before buying a jack russell terror...I mean terrier. They are hyperactive, non-stop needy, and super intelligent dogs...even the owners of "Eddie" from "Frasier" warned people not to buy Jack Russells without looking into the breed very carefully...they are a handfull.you have a handfull
Maby you should put this cage thing on her mouth!
that lovely little dog is tireless, bullet proof, tenacious and will drive you absolutely bat doo doo. plus you have a female and the vet bills will be high. and the vets will wink at each othe when they see a new jack russell pet. they are like chucky -- risen from hell. these are actually very serious working dogs for squirrel, anything that digs in the ground and they can run all day long and never get tired. but willdrive you crazy. you have been warned.
We have 2 dogs that are part jack russell %26 min pins and they bark if someone goes by. My little girl doesnt bark she screaches and if somebody comes in our yard they have an all together different bark. That is just their nature because they are so hypper
I live on a street where most everybody has dogs. The barking starts at one end of the street when someone is walking %26 travels down the street until the walker is out of sight.
I train my dog to do this so as to warn when someone is on the street. It is a high crime area so the dogs barking brings people to their doors to see what the dogs are barking at. Porch light after porch light comes on then goes off.
Everyone but me, on this street, has been robbed . I keep large dogs %26 encourage the warning barks %26 praise them for it.
The only complaints are from people who do not have dogs. Animal control comes out to see who is barking excessively but not one dog barks more than the others so no one got sighted for having a barking dog.
They have different barks for different things so I know pretty much what is going on on our street.
My westie is the same, she sits on the arm of the chair growling at everything and barking at everyone that goes past. The way we manage to deter her is to say NO firmly and move her off the settee. It does work mostly but you do need to be firm. I would avoid the use of collars unless the problem is severe. The trick is to avoid her seeing or hearing the things that set it off. Distract her with a toy and praise her when she stops.
A quick squirt with a little water every time she does it and she will soon get the message.
a little lead injected behind the left ear administered with a gun. ha ha
Tell her to be quiet.Or buy her a barking collar.
