The shaking was like she usually does after a bath and is cold and mad. But it wasn't cold. I had just woke her up from a bad dream I guess and was holding her to calm her down and she would not stop shaking. I tried wrapping her up and petting her but it didn't stop until she went back to sleep. Is this normal? What causes this?
Answers:
Yea it sounds like she was just scared to me, if she continued doing it when she went to sleep that might be something different, or if she is still doing it when she woke up again. Dogs can be scared pretty easy it all depends on the animal. I don't think you have anything to worry about at this point, but if it gets worse or is persistent take her to the vet.
See your vet as soon as possible. I checked it out online and it could be some sort of lead or phosphate poisoning.
Epilepsy causes shaking, you need to write down how long she shook and the date. If she does it again, you need to denote that also and take the information and the dog to the vet.
Epilepsy in dogs, doesn't mean that they will die. Just that they need treated.
Signs of epilepsy: Shaking, extra saliva around mouth, eyes roll back into head. After the episode, they are very tired.
During an epilepsy attack, keep the dog in a safe place, hold her, pet her for reassurance that everything's ok. You just have to wait until the attack is over.
If you need to, take her to the vet and have her checked for epilepsy.
I had a beagle lab mix named chester. He shook when he was haveing a bad dream, if he shakes while awake take him to a vet
its probably just scared.work with her and it will get better.
