If he is crying constantly, I would think that you should take him in to the vet to be checked.. Even tho he is too young to be away from mom and littermates yet.. He should start settling in to the new home and routine without trouble. Dogs are basically looking for someone to love and someone to love them.. Once they leave mom, you have to be that person.. If you are doing that properly, he shouldn't be crying all the time.
thats probably it. try holding him close to your heart as much as possible, the heart beat should calm him and bond him to you. pay him lots of attention! give him lots of hugs!
wouldny hurt to get advice from the breeder or your vet either.
Of course he misses his mother, he should be with her for another couple of weeks at least.
Poor thing, be gentle and loving with him if you can't return him to the breeder for another few weeks. Can't believe she would sell such a young pup, then again, breeders breed for money usually.
He's scared to death. calm yourself down. just pet him. He may take a day or two to adjust.
Sometimes these dog breeds are made by cross breeding with other breeds of dogs that results in some kind of problems.
It can be possible that your dog looks much cuter than any other dog but the side effects of being cute by cross breeding might be the water of eyes not stopping that might look to you like your dog is crying.
Misses his mommy and sibs...dogs are pack animals and he's been suddenly taken from his pack. He will adjust within a couple of days. If you get two puppies this doesn't happen as much-each has the other for comfort and familiarity. Sometimes if you put a ticking clock in with them or nearby, it helps calm them down when they're sleeping, sort of replaces the heartbeat of the mother...just be sure the alarm isn't turned on! I always wind up spoiling them by letting them sleep next to me...K ;o)
I think puppies arent supposed to be away from their mothers untill 8 weeks old when they are weaned. Also, you never know about breeders since their adult dog could have health problems you dont know about and the puppies could inherit that. Thats why I only agree adopting a dog and never buying it from a breeder or petstore since things like this happen. Next time you want a dog, go to a shelter and save a life their. Im sure you would have found a poodle their that was waiting for someone to save its life.
He was taken away from his mother too young - puppies shoudl be AT LEAST 10 weeks old before they are seperated, it was very irresponsible of your breeder to give you the dog this young. He will probably cry a lot for a few more weeks. Cuddle with him and give him a bottle filled with warm water and wrapped in a washcloth to cuddle next to when you aren't holding him. Good luck.
How old did you say he is? 7 weeks is not too bad.
Poodles are extremely intelligent and sensitive. Let him bond with only one ofyou for now. Carry him around, and dont let him lose sight of you. He is having such great separation anxiety and feels lost and rejected by his previous pack.
The breeder might not be a very experienced one and have not separated the pups gradually yet.
Ask him or her if you could bring the dog back. The breeder can get you another pup or make this one stay a bit longer with its mother.
It's just probably homesick.
